FAQs

Q: This is so much new information for me. Where should I start learning Spread Trading?
A: You are already in the right place. This website has the most comprehensive information about Spread Trading worldwide. The best way to start is to subscribe to our Free Newsletter, Chart Scan. It shows you a weekly example of how to trade spreads. To gain more knowledge about how to trade Spreads, we strongly recommend our Book “Trading Spreads and Seasonals”.

Q: Should I either focus just in Spreads or should I implement it in my trading style?
A: Many traders use spread trading for more consistency in their trading, and trade solely spreads. Keep in mind that you don't have to trade often if you are trading spreads: 1-2 trades per week are enough to produce very nice profits.

If you are not patient enough and you need action every day, add spread trading to your current trading style (e.g. daytrading). One of the most common mistakes in spread trading is overtrading because of a lack of patience.

Q: I haven´t traded yet, should I start with trading Spreads?
A: Absolutely! Spread trading offers many advantages especially for beginners: Easy to trade, nice trends, low risk and low margin requirements. Please see our homepage for more details.

Q: How much money do I need to start spread trading?
A: Though we know some trader who started with a $3,000 account,
we recommend an account size of at least $10,000.

Q:
How do I get quotes for spread?
The exchanges do not yet publish spread quotes, but you can chart the difference between the two underlying contracts by just subtracting one from the other.

Q: How do I chart a spread?
A: Most professional charting software packages let you chart a spread. Please refer to the support team of your vendor. If your charting software does not support spread charts, or you do not have a charting software yet, check out these FREE spread charting websites:

barchart.com

britefutures.com

Q: Are there information about a spread broker or a charting software in your book?
No, but if you want to know who we are using as our broker, please send an email to support@spread-trading.com, and we'll forward you the contact information.

Q: I live outside the U.S. Can I trade spreads despite of the time difference?
A: Yes! In fact, the most effective way to trade spreads is using end-of-day. So you can make your trading decisions even when the US markets are closed. And of course, you save hundreds of $$$ and reduce your costs while you don´t need live data.

Q: Are there any spread trading seminars?

A: Many people know that seminars are the most efficient way to learn. That’s why we offer the only Spread Trading Seminar worldwide.
We will keep you updated, when the next Spread Trading seminar will be available.
